He was born in Warsaw in 1955. After graduating from high school, he studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Leader and co-founder of the Tilt and Brygada Kryzys bands, he also co-founded the Fotoness team. He collaborated, among others with Israel, he also recorded under his name (album „Don’t ask me” from 1994 and „What you want” 2016). The vocalist, guitarist, is the author or co-author of, among others such hits as’ Centrala ’,’ I tell you that ’,’ What you feel, what you know ’,’ I don’t believe politicians’, 'The last wall has fallen’, 'It will be beautiful’, 'Don’t ask me what is good and what is wrong „and many others. In the years 1991–1993 he wrote columns for Tylko Rock. He produced and ran „60/90” music programs for TVP (1991-93) and concerts. He was the marketing director of BMG Poland (1993), co-creator and presenter of the iconic Radiostacja (1998 – 2000), editor-in-chief of Aktivista (2000). He also hosted the Radio Roxy show titled „Landfill” (with rapper Vień, 2010 – 2013) and Radio Gdańsk program „Charming moments with old vinyl” (with Jacek Staniszewski, 2013). He has several supporting roles, he is the author of music and songs for several films (including songs for the picture „Sweet Bitter”, for which he was awarded in 1996 at the 21st Gdynia Polish Film Festival, „Dogs II: Last Blood” and „Reich” – all directed by Władysław Pasikowski, „Tramwajad” – directed by Bolesław Pawica; also for documentary films and theater productions by Andrzej Titkow). He took part in the movie „Beats of Freedom”, in which he tells British journalist and book author Chris Salewicz about the history and role of rock music in the Polish transformations of the 1970s and 1980s. He was one of the initiators of the founding of the Polish Musicians’ Trade Union and the Audio Video Producers Union. In 2011, he was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta by the President of the Republic of Poland. He has recorded several albums in various compositions. His last album from 2015 is entitled „What you want.” Currently recording and performing with the band (composed of Karol Ludew – drums, Piotr Leniewicz – bass guitar, Marcin Krakowiak – kbd., Cello, guitar, Anna Patynek – percussion instruments) as TOMEK LIPIŃSKI. From 2017 he is a member of the Presidium of the Zaiks Board. From 2018 – chairman of the Music Export Poland Foundation Council.
